About Bill Davis &
The Matco Tools
Franchise Association

My name is Bill Davis, and I founded the Matco Tools Franchise Association (MTFA) with one goal in mind: to get Matco to fix the ongoing issues with MDBS

However, over the past year, it has become clear that the problems extend far beyond just the software. There is so much more that needs to be addressed, and it’s time for action.

We are officially moving forward with organizing an association to ensure Matco recognizes that enough is enough. The failures of MDBS have created widespread challenges for distributors, and it’s time for solutions.

Who I Am

I bring over 35 years of experience in software, hardware, and networking, with a deep background in computer systems, servers, and IT infrastructure.

  • Michigan State University Alumni
    • Former Computer Systems Engineer at Michigan State University (10+ years)
  • Laser Engineer at Sightpath Medical
  • Matco Distributor for 5 Years – Managing 2 stores
  • IT Consultant & Systems Specialist – Providing software, hardware, and network solutions

Why This Matters

As both a Matco distributor and a technology expert, I have personally identified and reported many of the critical flaws in MDBS. These issues have been brought to Matco’s attention countless times over the past 4+ years, yet nothing has been done to properly fix them.

If you’ve experienced these problems firsthand, you’re not alone. We are building an association to demand real change—not just for better software, but for fair policies, franchisee rights, and a stronger future for all distributors.

Let’s Talk

I encourage every Matco distributor (even if you are separated from Matco) to join this effort. If you have questions, concerns, or want to share your experiences, please feel free to call or text me directly.
